Bountiful Farm Beef
A limited number of ownership shares in specific live cattle are available each season. Shares are purchased before harvest and custom processed for the owner’s household use. Contact us to ask about upcoming availability, estimated quantities, pricing, and processing arrangements. Born, raised, and cared for here at Bountiful Farm, our cattle have room to graze and receive attentive, hands-on care throughout their lives. When the time comes, each animal is humanely harvested here on the farm by an experienced professional. Keeping the animal in familiar surroundings avoids the stress of transport. The beef is then professionally aged, cut, wrapped, and frozen. What a share includes A share generally includes a useful mix of ground beef, steaks, roasts, short ribs, stew meat, brisket, and other cuts. The exact assortment and number of packages depend on the size of the share, the individual animal, and the cutting instructions. Bones and organ meats may also be available by request. How hanging-weight pricing works We quote one price per pound of hanging weight—the weight of the carcass after harvest and before aging, trimming, cutting, and wrapping. Hanging weight is not the same as the amount of packaged beef you take home; moisture, bone, and trim are removed during processing, so the finished weight will be lower. This standard method lets us price the whole share fairly rather than assigning a separate retail price to every cut. Interested in a beef share?
